FDA Grants First Marketing Authorization for a DNA Test to Assess Predisposition for Dozens of Cancer Types

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted de novo marketing authorization for the Invitae Common Hereditary Cancers Panel, an in vitro diagnostic test that can help detect hundreds of genetic variants associated with an elevated risk of developing certain cancers.
The test can also help identify potentially cancer-associated hereditary variants in individuals with already-diagnosed cancer. The test, which is the first of its kind to be granted FDA marketing authorization,

The MIND Diet & MTHFR - How They Play Key Roles In Physical and Mental Health

The MIND diet (Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay) is a combination of two well-studied dietary approaches - the Mediterranean diet and DASH (Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension) - with some modifications.
Researchers found those who followed the MIND diet had a 53% reduced risk of developing Alzheimer's disease and those who moderately followed the diet had a 35% reduced risk.
Methyl TetraHydroFolate Reductase (MTHFR) is a gene that produces an essential enzyme in the body. MTHFR plays a key role with regard to many aspects of physical and mental health.
Humans contain two copies of each gene, one from the father and one from the mother, which are referred to as the alleles of a gene. One allele mutation, which occurs in 50% of the population makes it more likely that you will have migraine headaches or other low serotonin medical problems like:

23andMe Holding Co. has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance to expand its existing BRCA1/BRCA2 (Selected Variants) Genetic Health Risk Report*.
