Vaginal Itching

May 21, 2015 at 12:00am

I have been using Intensity for approximately two months with no problems. I have been experiencing uncomfortable vaginal itching the last couple of days. I did not use the Intensity today.

I do have e-string and was using Premarin, but I have not used those for the last couple of weeks. I would appreciate any advice you could provide me to help relieve my symptoms and how to proceed with the Intensity treatment.

Taking Care of the Vulva and Vagina

February 13, 2015 at 2:15pm

I am 44 years old and about 6 months ago, I had an issue with an itchy bottom. It is not all the time, but it seems to be worse when it is time for my monthly menses.

I didn’t ask the doctor when I had my recent pap smear, but he said everything looked normal. However, I am really embarassed by it.

Post-Hysterectomy Treatment

September 16, 2014 at 5:48am

I am 37 years old and just had a full hysterectomy 3 months ago, which removed my uterus and both ovaries. My doctor started me on estradiol orally right away. After one week, I noticed some stomach upset and was switched to the estrogen patch 0.05, which improved my symptoms but my heart started to race. The rapid heart rate made me nervous. I would be lying down feeling very calm and my heart rate would be 107.

So I just took off the patch and have gone without treatment for 2 months. Now I’ve had some hot flashes associated with anxiousness and mood irritability. Because of this, I retried the patch and within a couple of hours I felt better and more calm, but then my heart began racing again. So, once again I removed the patch. Is this normal? What can I do?

Taking Medications Together

May 22, 2014 at 12:10pm

I have been using Estring for about 8 years. I felt that it wasn’t working as well as it did the first few years. I saw my endocrinologist today and asked her about Osphena. She gave me some samples. I asked if I should still use Estring and she said no problem. I trust her but she is not a gynecologist, so I am not sure about mixing the two medications.

My primary care physician retired about a year ago. I don’t have anyone else at this time to ask about this. Thank you.

Do I still need an internal exam?

February 8, 2013 at 9:44am

I have not had an internal exam by my Primary Care Physician for more than two years. The nurse practitioner told me that I don’t need one since I do not have a cervix. (I had a hysterectomy in 2007.) Isn’t there still something "below the waist" that should be examined?
