Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Holly L. Thacker, MD, FACP is nationally known for her leadership in women’s health. She is the founder of the Cleveland Clinic Specialized Women’s Health Fellowship and is currently the Professor and Director of the Center for Specialized Women’s Health at Cleveland Clinic and Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Thacker is also the Executive Director of Speaking of Women’s Health and the author of The Cleveland Clinic Guide to Menopause. Her special interests and areas of research including menopause and related medical problems including osteoporosis, hormone therapy, breast cancer risk assessment, menstrual disorders, female sexual dysfunction and interdisciplinary women’s health.
Wendy Turkuc is the Department Administrator for the Ob/Gyn Subspecialty department within Cleveland Clinic's Women's Health Institute. With a background in Electrical Engineering, her Cleveland Clinic career began in 2008 with the IT Infrastructure Planning team. Most recently she held the role of IT Business Partner, assisting WHI with leveraging technology to accomplish clinical goals. However, her passion has always been to make an impact in the business of providing care to our patients, which led her to pursue her MBA in HealthCare Administration and to finally finding home within the Women's Health Institute. Wendy is the proud mother of twins, and in her spare time enjoys cycling across Ohio for charity or rowing in an 8-women shell down the Cuyahoga River.
