Ask the Nurse

When does your weight loss become dangerous to your health?

Any unexplained weight loss should be evaluated by your physician as it can signal thyroid problems, depression, inadequate intake and many other causes. Unexplained weight loss is most concerning if there is a history of drinking and smoking.

The normal body mass index (BMI) for a woman is 18-25.
