The Man Behind the Speaking of Women’s Health Women

Our Speaking of Women’s Health team is comprised of so many exceptional women who care for others every day, and I am the man behind all these amazing women! Part of my role as Administrator for Cleveland Clinic’s OBGYN and Women’s Health Institute, is a member of the Speaking of Women’s Health committee where I help make strategic decisions.

Ways to Give Back

Speaking of Women’s Health is a non-profit organization supported by donations and sponsorships from our generous community.

Since Thanksgiving is near, it’s a great time of year to reflect on our lives and practice gratitude. The holidays act as a gentle reminder to give back to others in our communities by donating our time as a volunteer or by making a monetary donation to a non-profit organization.

#GivingTuesday

There are many ways to give financially to your favorite non-profits. #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season and is celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. Since 2012, #GivingTuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy.

Please consider donating to Speaking of Women’s Health on #GivingTuesday, November 28. Your support will help us continue to provide women’s health education and empowerment nationwide. Tell us who you are thankful for when you make your tax deductible donation to Speaking of Women’s Health, and your donation will be in that person's honor. Supporting a good cause makes us feel good, and by donating to Speaking of Women’s health you will be helping us to maintain our mission to help women and their families Be Strong. Be Healthy. Be in Charge!

Volunteering

One of the best ways to get involved and give back to others is volunteering in your own community. Find an organization, charity or event that you feel passionate about – and get involved!

I truly enjoy helping and giving back to others. I recently volunteered as a Shoe Guy for Cleveland’s Wine Women & Shoes event, which benefits Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland and was sponsored by Speaking of Women's Health! Wine Women & Shoes events are community celebrations that bring women together around fine wine, great shoes and causes that matter. As a Shoe Guy volunteer, I helped promote the event and helped during the event selling raffle tickets and presenting shoes on silver platters.

I also am on the Board of Directors for Engage! Cleveland, which is a resource for Cleveland’s young professionals to connect to the organizations, nonprofits, events, businesses and individuals that will help them become better integrated to the city.

Practice Gratitude

As most busy people these days, I find myself getting caught up in the business of life. However, I encourage us to enjoy time over the holidays with friends and family, and to stop thinking about work. Turn off our phones and engage with others. Tell your family and friends what you are thankful for and why you are so grateful to have them in your life.

Be Strong. Be Healthy. Be in Charge!
