Ask the Nurse

Are there special devices that can be paid for by Medicare to improve weak (and possibly damaged) pelvic floor muscles?

You need to check with your insurance coverage to see what is covered. Generally, over the counter pelvic stimulating devices are not covered by insurance, but the cost of these devices are usually less than a year of paying for pads/liners/depends. If you have weak muscles due to damaged nerves, then these over the counter pelvic stimulating devices likely will NOT work. Please see a pelvic floor physician specialist and a pelvic floor physical therapist.
