I am 67 years old and recently had my yearly blood work done. My vitamin B12 level is >1500. My liver enzyme ALT is 39. I have been told that I have a fatty liver. Can you give me advice concerning the high level of B12?
If you are taking extra B12 supplements or vitamins, you can stop. Fatty liver can turn into NASH and even cirrhosis. Please see your primary care physician and/or a liver specialist for further evaluation.
Helpful tips:
- Keep weight down
- Keep blood sugar normal
- Consider intermittent fasting
- Some coffee and tea ingestion
