Ask the Nurse

Is there a cure for LPR (Laryngopharyngeal) reflux? I am not a medication person and do not want to take Zantac forever.

  1. Keep the head end of the bed elevated while sleeping.
  2. Refrain from caffeine rich drinks, chocolate and spicy foods.
  3. An Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT) consult would also be advised to have a direct laryngoscopy, followed by a Gastrointestinal (GI) consult if needed to have an upper endoscopy.
