Hormone replacement therapy reduces risk of early death, new research suggests

March 2017 - Hormone replacement therapy reduces the risk of early death in postmenopausal women by as much as 30 per cent, a major new study indicates.

A survey of more than 4,200 women found that those who used the treatment also had healthier hearts.

The proportion of women taking up up HRT has dropped significantly over the past two decades since reports emerged that it can lead to a greater risk of certain cancers in some people.
