I had a severe cold that lasted all of February. It is now late March and I still have drainage in the back of my throat. Several times a day I get a choking feeling in the back of my throat and have to clear it by coughing or clearing my throat.

Does this seem like it could be an allergic reaction to something? The chocking feeling happens anywhere: at home, the car, shopping, etc. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

What you are describing sounds like dripping behind your throat or postnasal drip. People can sometimes get these symptoms from a cold or from allergic rhinitis. I recommend that you see your primary doctor as there are treatments for these symptoms. Best of health and thanks for the question.
