What is Diabetes?

 



            

Types of diabetes - Type 1 and Type 2.  Type 1 is a disease that destroys the cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. Type 2 diabetes means the body is resistant to insulin.  People with Type 2 diabetes still produce insulin, but not enough or their bodies are resistant to insulin and cannot use it properly.  The good new is that diabetes is manageable.  More >
Even if you do not have diabetes, follow healthy eating and life style habits deter developing the disease.   What's really important? Avoid large amounts of sugary snacks with low fiber content (e.g. candy).    More >
